Published for the first time in any language are these two plays by acclaimed German theatre practitioner, playwright and poet, Bertolt Brecht, 'The Good Woman of Setzuan' and 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle'. 

With English translations and introduction by British-born American theatre critic Eric Bentley and his first wife, Maja.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with rubbing to the extremities. Dust wrapper is chipped to the top edge of the wrap, with minor losses to the spine tail and bottom of joints. Sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with spotting to the endpapers and a small contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
