This post-war work is regarded as one of the first English language books on Nihonto or the Japanese sword, exploring the cultural significance, forging, and famous sword makers throughout Japan's history. 

Written by Inami Hakusui, the founder of the Japanese Sword Research Society and a prominent figure within this field.

Condition

Rebound in later red cloth, with leather spine label. Externally, excellent, with only minor shelf wear. Ex libris bookplate of one Cliff Parfit to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and toning to the first and last couple leaves.
