The first edition of this work.
The less common issue of this work, in a cloth binding, and with an unclipped dust wrapper. One of around fifty copies 'hardbound for review and presentation' by the publisher, although this copy bears no inscription.
Edited by Jose Garcia Villa, this volume includes work by Spender, Stein, Yeats, and Sitwell herself.
It was published on the occasion of Sitwell's 1948 tour of the US alongside her brothers, during which she recited her poetry, and gave a reading of Lady Macbeth's sleepwalking scene.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Light spotting to dust wrapper wrap perimeters, with back strip lightly age toned. Edgewear and chipping to head of rear wrap, with minor losses to back strip tail, and tail of wraps. Two small closed tears to head of front wrap. Neat restoration to dust wrapper reverse at back strip head, and at head and tail of front flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
