A wonderful 4 volume set of works by English novelist and civil servant of the Victorian era, Anthony Trollope.

In publisher's original brown cloth bindings, in the original dust wrappers. 

Out of his 47 novels, Trollope is best known for two series of six novels, each collecitvely known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, and the Palliser novels.

This set includes:

1950 An Autobiography 
With a frontispiece, 15 plates, 14 of which double sided, and further in text illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. Includes a preface by Frederick Page.

1953 Barchester Towers Volume I
With a frontispiece and 6 plates, with further in text illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. 
The second book in the Chronicles of Barsetshire series, which comically dives into he intricacies of ecclesiastical politics and church society within a fiction English cathedral city.

1948 Can You Forgive Her? Volume I 
With a colour frontispiece, 7 plates and in text illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. 

1948 Can You Forgive Her? Volume II
with a colour frontispiece, 8 plates, and in text illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. 
These two volumes were first published in serial form in 1864 and 1865, and are the first of the six novels in the Palliser novels. They follow three parallel stories of courtship and marriage and the decisions of three women. 

Condition

In publisher's original brown cloth bindings. In the original dust wrappers. Externally, very smart. Very light shelf wear to extremities. Marks to boards of both volumes of Can You Forgive Her?. Light offsetting and spotting to endpapers. Dust wrappers are smart. All wraps are price clipped except Barchester Towers. Shelf wear to extremities, with the odd closed tear, and chipping to head of spine of Can You Forgive Her Vol I and loss to corner of Vol II wrap. Small loss to joint of An Autobiography wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean
