The work is illustrated with six plates of wood engravings from John O'Connor, a talented woodcutter and painter known for his rural and melancholy prints.

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is faded. A few light marks to the cloth. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
