A scarce edition of this work in the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial boards.
Illustrated with four full-page and two double-page colour illustrations, as well as numerous colour illustrations in the text. Collated, complete.
Eleanor Farjeon (1881-1965) was an English author of children's stories and plays, poetry, biography, history and satire. This is one of her charming story about naughty children who turn into animals, as a consequence of their refusal to go to sleep.
Colourfully illustrated throughout by the artist Kathleen Burrell, who also illustrated several of the Mr Popplecorn books by Margaret Musson.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with a mark to the front board, some fading to the rear board, and shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
