First edition. Very scarce work. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, seven colour plates, and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. Produced following the Second World War, this work contains a collection of guides and tips for the housewife. Providing detailed references for different cooking processes, tips on planning meals, information on food values, and a glossary of terms. With articles on seasonal foods, including fish and meats, preserving milks and dairy, different methods of preparation, and special recipes. Compiled by Nell Heaton, a British cookbook writer. Illustrated by W. A. Burton and A. R. Harrison.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot.
