Edgar Rice Burroughs was a popular author of adventure novels, best known for his character 'Tarzan', on whom the 1999 Disney film was based on. His wrote his first novel, 'Under the Moons of Mars', after suffering from money troubles. Burroughs cashed in on the original success of 'Tarzan' by writing twenty-three sequels. He also dabbled in science fiction, with his character John Carter, a civil war veteran who becomes an adventurer of Mars.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. 'Tarzan and the Foreign Legion' is a little rubbed with light marks. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of 'Tarzan and the Foreign Legion'. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down of 'Tarzan and the Foreign Legion'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
