An early collection of short stories from the beloved children's author, a stylistic departure from his better known works. A collection reviewed as reflective and slow paced, featured are ten brief tales, including 'Beware of the Dog', which is set in the Second World War, following an RAF pilot.
With a crossed out inscription to the front free endpaper, dated Christmas 1951.
A signed copy of the first volume of short stories Dahl ever published.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping and minor mark to back strip tail, with boards exceptionally bright. Minor spotting to fore edge of text block. Lacking rear free endpaper, with rear hinge starting and board holding firm. Former owner's inscription - crossed out - to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Signed by Dahl to the title page. Pages clean and bright.
