'Lord Hornblower' is set in 1814, when Hornblower is sent to deal with the 'Flame' near the mouth of the Seine. An exciting Royal Navy novel set during the Napoleonic Wars.
C. S. Forester is best known for his Horatio Hornblower series, though he also wrote 'Payment Deferred', 'Brown on Resolution', and 'The African Queen'. He also wrote short stories set during the Second World War, in which he fought and subsequently met Roald Dahl.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some small chips and closed tears, larger chip to the tail of the spine. Light discolouration and marks to the wraps. A couple of tape repairs to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
