The first edition, first impression of this work.

In the original unclipped dustwrapper.

'Lord Hornblower' is set in 1814, when Hornblower is sent to deal with the 'Flame' near the mouth of the Seine. An exciting Royal Navy novel set during the Napoleonic Wars.

C. S. Forester is best known for his Horatio Hornblower series, though he also wrote 'Payment Deferred', 'Brown on Resolution', and 'The African Queen'. He also wrote short stories set during the Second World War, in which he fought and subsequently met Roald Dahl.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Dustwrapper with light edgwear, resulting in a couple of closed tear. Light discolouration and a few marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some odd spots.
