Written by Eleanour Sophie Sinclair Rohde, a British gardener, garden designer, and horticultural writer who authored thirty books on gardening. She is best known for her book The Scented Garden, published in 1931. Illustrated by Hilda Maud Coley, a British artist and botanical illustrator, and Gwendy Caroe, a British artist with strong ties to the Arts and Crafts movement, who was the only daughter of William and Gwendoline Bragg.
