First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce, With Dustwrapper
First edition of Christopher's New House by Merula Salaman in the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards.
In the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper.
A scarce edition with only seven copies held in libraries.
Salaman was a children's fiction author and actress, also known for her marriage to English actor Alec Guinness.
A lovely colourful children's book with illustrations by the author throughout.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. There is some wear to the dust wrapper including some minor tears to the extremities and some light creases. There is a closed tear to the front board which has been repaired to the inverse. To the binding, there is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
