The text for Mansfield Park also includes the text for Lover's Vows to the rear. Lover's Vows is the controversial play performed by the characters of Mansfield Park in the first volume and it is unusual to have this printed alongside the novel. Sense and Sensibility was Austen's first novel published and a work of romantic fiction. First published in 1811 it follows the Dashwood sisters in their struggles in life after the death of their father. Mansfield Park, first published in 1814, is the third novel by Austen and is of particular literary significance due to the comments on slavery and imperialism.
