Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

This impressive collection consists of sixty-one issues from 'Language', the quarterly academic journal published by the Linguistic Society of America.

Each issue is bound in the publisher's original wraps.

This journal covers all aspects of linguistics and was the vehicle of many of the important articles of American structural linguistics during the second quarter of the 20th century (during which it was under the editorship of Yale linguist Bernard Bloch).

The articles found across this set explore topics such as the dependency theory (David G. Hays), the stressed syllabics of Old English (Charles F. Hockett) and structural dialectology (William G. Moulton), among many others.

Issues are also accompanied by reviews and commentary of interest to the linguistics community.
