The first edition, first impression, second state, with black text to the title page. This is one of the copies produced for distribution throughout the British Empire.
'The Crack-Up' is a posthumous collection of essays by F. Scott Fitzgerald, three of which had originally been published in 'Esquire' in 1936; these essays are titled 'The Crack-Up', 'Handle With Care', and 'Pasting it Together'.
This volume also includes a selection of letters to Fitzgerald from Gertrude Stein, Edith Wharton, and T. S. Eliot, in which they praise 'The Great Gatsby'.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light marks to the cloth. Minor bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Bookseller's label to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
