Founded in 1940, at just the time when the public demand for verse had increased, this quarterly periodical was dedicated to the publication of work by contemporary poets and to reviews of their work. Edited by Charles Wrey Gardiner, an English writer and poet, editor and publisher who was a noted and well-connected literary figure, particularly in London in the years around Second World War. This issue contains contributions from Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Walford Morgan, Eithne Wilkins, Wrey Gardiner, David Wright, Thomas Good, Kenneth Gee, Keith Douglas, Robin Atthill, Julian Orde, W. S. Graham, Robert Richman, Louis Adeane, Paul Potts, Elizabeth Berridge, Stephen Coates, and Ernst Sigler.
Condition
In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small mark. Light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
