The author's own experiences plant-collecting in China, with a historical sketch of the study of plants from times when China was completely closed to all European influence barring a few treaty ports, and the research and findings of other horticulturalists. Written by Euan Hillhouse Methven Cox, a Scottish plant collector, botanist, and horticulturist.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear and light fading to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with minor chipping to the extremities and the odd small closed tear. Sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark.
