Colourfully illustrated with twenty plates in Greenaway's distinctive style. Collated, complete.
Greenaway was a Victorian artist, well beloved for her children's book illustrations, produced in the Golden Age of book illustration. Most of her drawings depiction Queen Anne style costume, an imaginary eighteenth century style rather than Victorian.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding with paper to the boards, in a custom cloth clamshell. Externally, generally smart. Loss and wear to the extremities. Tidemark to the tail of the front board. Handling marks and discolouration to the boards. Light bumping and rubbing to the spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Clamshell is smart with a few light marks, in a near fine condition.
