What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Slipcase

In a custom cloth clamshell, in a near fine condition.

A charming educational work on the alphabet for children, though the work curiously did not include the letter I.

Colourfully illustrated with twenty plates in Greenaway's distinctive style. Collated, complete.

Greenaway was a Victorian artist, well beloved for her children's book illustrations, produced in the Golden Age of book illustration. Most of her drawings depiction Queen Anne style costume, an imaginary eighteenth century style rather than Victorian.

Dated from the printers code, "176.1045".
