First limited edition, first printing of The Wisdom of India by Lin Yutang in the original publisher's binding and unclipped dust wrapper.
Scarce edition with very scarce dust wrapper. Printed on hand made paper and limited to 500 copies. This is number 117.
The anthology is intended as an appreciation of Indian literature and scholarship by the linguist, novelist and translator Lin Yutang. His polished and relaxed style of writing has brought him fame all around the world. He also translated many Chinese texts into English.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. The dust wrapper is worn to the extremities and has a few tears and marks. The binding has some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some light marking to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean.
