What Our Customers Say...

Description

Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A vanishingly scarce work, reprinted from the 'Bulletin of the John Rylands Library'.

T. H Pear was the first professor of psychology in England, and was president of the British Psychological Society.

Pear - whose son was killed in the D-Day landings - presents a fascinating essay on the mental maturity of young people, comparing the Boy Scouts with the Hitler Youth, and discussing Freudian mental self-sufficiency.

The personal copy of celebrated English science fiction author Brian Aldiss, best known for his 'Helliconia' trilogy. Associated with the British New Wave of science fiction, Aldiss received two Hugo Awards, one Nebula Award and one John W. Campbell Memorial Award.

Loosely inserted is a provenance notice signed by the executor of Aldiss's estate, his daughter Wendy.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Wraps lightly age toned to perimeters, otherwise excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned due to paper type, otherwise clean and bright.
