What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, With Dustwrapper
The first Canadian edition.
First published in the UK in 1936.
Scarce to see with the original, unclipped dust wrapper.
Written by William Earl Johns, an English First World War pilot and writer of adventure stories, who wrote under the pen name Capt. W. E. Johns. He is best known for creating the fictional air-adventurer Biggles.
This thrilling Biggles adventure surrounds the foundation of 'Biggles & Co.', the daring business enterprise intended to provide transport for valuable cargo between London and the Continent. However, with robbery, fraud and a disappearance, this is not the business proposition Biggles had in mind.
Illustrated with six sketches by Howard Leigh and Alfred Sindall. Collated, complete.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light bumping to the extremities and the odd light mark to cloth. A little offsetting to endpapers and a light tide mark to the fore edge, not affecting text. Dust wrapper is sound, with edge wear and closed tears to the extremities, notably tears to the fly leaves and joints. A little loss to the spine head and tail, with sunning to the wrap and light marking. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the occasional spot or handling mark.
