An autobiographical travel narrative, describing the author's own life experiences over a period of half a century. From her carefree and rebellious youth in Switzerland, through trips to Moscow, Kirghizistan, and the Far East, to her long stay in India that transformed her so profoundly. Written by Ella Maillart, a Swiss adventurer, travel writer and photographer, as well as a sportswoman.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. Small splits in the cloth to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. School prize bookplate to the reverse of the frontispiece.
