This nonsense poem was written by the noted Lewis Carroll, best known for his work 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. The poem tells the story of a crew who are trying to hunt a Snark (a fictional animal) which turns out to be a dangerous Bookjum. This fun poem has been complimented by the expressive and unusual pencil drawings by author and artist Mervyn Peake, who is best known for writing the 'Gormenghast' series.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial hardback. Externally generally smart with slight rubbing and closed tears to the joints with the front joint starting, handling marks to the boards and minimal bumping to the extremities. Light offsetting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with very lightly age toned and generally clean pages with offsetting to the half title and the odd spot.
