First edition. Very scarce work. Illustrated throughout. Written during the height of the Blitz, this collection contains three wartime stories inspired by the spirit of Londoners during the Second World War, being a testament to the bravery of the British public in the face of great peril. The stories are: Alice, a portrait of a little lady and her pair of dogs; Blitz Bits, a picture of experiences in a tube-shelter during air raids; and Milestone, the result of drinking bottled beer by the Old London Bridge. Written by H. A. Wilson. Illustrated by Clare Dawson.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards with light sunning to the spine. Light loss and splits to the spine with sympathetic repairs made with tape. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper with the bottom section cut away.
