Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
Very scarce issue. With a colour frontispiece, an illustrated title page, and numerous in-text illustrations, many of which are in colour. Tiger Tim's Weekly was a weekly comic for children, which ran from 1919 until 1940. The annuals, which ran from 1922 through to 1956, contain a collection of illustrated short stories and comics for young boys and girls. With contribution from a variety of well-known authors. Examples of titles within this volume include: The Pirates Dungeon, Grandpa John's Secret, My Dolly's Tea Party, The School Pantomime, and Rescue from the Skies, amongst others.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor chipping to the board edges. The odd small mark with light sunning to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with sympathetic reinforcements to the pastedowns. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light loss to the "this book belongs to" page which has been sympathetically repaired with paper.
