This novel follows the story of Christopher Columbus and his third voyage to America, told by the point of view of Don Narciso Rich, a 15th century liberal in a New World. That voyage was said to be the most disastrous for Columbus, who was sent back to Spain still in chains after being captured.
This is a tale not only of history, but also of greed, ambition, thirst and jealousy.

In the publisher's original red cloth, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally very handsome with minor shelfwear only. Dustwrapper is price clipped and lovely, with only minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
