A compelling historical novel set during the American Revolutionary War, based upon the autobiographical works of Sergeant Roger Lamb, who served as a British soldier during this time.
Written by English poet, soldier and novelist Robert Graves, known for his historical works and war poetry. Graves wrote two novels on the American Revolutionary War, both of which were based on Lamb's writings; this is the first of the two, followed by 'Proceed, Sergeant Lamb'.
Illustrated with a folding map and frontispiece.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original dust wrapper. Externally, sound, with damp staining to boards, a little bumping to the extremities and the odd mark. Slight fading to the spine. Dust wrapper is fair, lacking the rear panel and both flyleaves, with additional loss to the spine head and the odd closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with just the odd spot.
