    The first edition of this very scarce work. 

    Inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper: "To Anthony Heal from C. G. Tomrley 2.9.40, with many thanks for much kind help". Heal was an English furniture designer, best known for being the chairman of Heal's (Heal & Son), the British furniture company.

    Illustrated with forty-three illustrations over sixteen plates. Collated, complete. 

    A fantastic guide to interior design and home furnishing from Mrs C. G. Tomrley. The work provides insight into the interior design trends of the 1940's, discussing planning, fashion and furnishing, colour theory, and in depth instruction to decorating each room in the house. 

    In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with only a very minor mark to the front board. Minor offsetting to the endpapers with author's inscription to the front free endpaper. The wrap is smart with worming to the extremities, sunning, and slight handling marks. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot to the rear.
