The novelisation of the 1940 motion picture starring Albert Dekker as a mad scientist named Alexander Thorkel. In the Peruvian jungle, he manages to use radioactivity to miniaturize human beings, who are reduced to one fifth of their natural size. When they escape his lab, he must hunt them down to prevent them revealing his secrets.
With the stamp of 'Capitol Circulating Libraries' to the front and rear pastedown, and the rear free endpaper. Evidence of library bookplate removal to front and rear pastedown.
Plastic laminate has been applied to the dust wrapper.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with a touch of shelf wear to spine tail. Rear hinge strained, and tenderly held. Library stamps to front and rear pastedown, and rear free endpaper, with evidence of library bookplate removal to front and rear pastedown. Clear laminate applied to dust wrapper, with age toned tape repair to back strip head, and head of front and rear wrap. Back strip lightly age toned. Closed tears and chipping to dust wrapper back strip tail, with small losses to head of front wrap, and further small closed tears to wrap heads and tails. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, but clean.
