Description

Illustrated, Leather Binding

A six month collection of issues from Model Engineer, a journal of small power engineering, tools, models, experimental mechanics, and electrical scientific instrument making. The journal was first published to support the hobby of model engineering in 1898 by Percival Marshall, who was to remain its editor for over fifty years. The magazine addressed the emergence of a new hobby — the construction of models and experimental engineering. Containing Vol. 80, No. 1965 of January 5th 1939 to Vol. 80, No. 1990 of June 29th 1939. This work was highly received as it transcended class barriers, appealing to professional engineers, jobbing machinists and anyone interested in making working mechanisms. Illustrated throughout with numerous photographs and in-text figures. Also containing the original title page of each issue. Collated complete. With articles on a range of subjects from aeronautics and astronomy to old-time cannon models, locomotives, and fuel consumption, amongst others.

Condition

Hinges failed with text block detached from the binding. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with minor age toning to the extremities. A crease to the first contents page.
