Signed by the Concerto's pianist Solomon Cutner (better known professionally as Solomon) to the work's credits. A child prodigy, he retired from public performance in his teens and then resumed his career as an adult performer, particularly acclaimed for his renditions of Beethoven.
The first edition of this sheet music for Arthur Bliss' Concerto, which was commissioned by the British Council for the 1939 New York World's Fair, an international exposition at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens.
Bliss became known as an unconventional and modernist composer in the post-war years, composing extensively not only for the concert hall, but also for ballet and films.

Condition
In the publisher's quarter cloth bound wraps. Externally, cloth spine is coming away in places and is darkened. Handling marks and spots to the wrap, and a contemporary ink inscribed name to the front cover. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with same named inscribed to the title page and the signature of Solomon Cutner to the credits page.
