Previous owner's ink inscription to the front paste down, dated 1943.
Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, and seven black-and-white illustrations including one full-page sketched map of Systurthia, by the prominent Scottish illustrator Harold Robert Millar (1869–1942). Collated, complete.
A unique combination of science-fiction and fantasy fuels this book for young readers, following five sibling protagonists who get sent to another planet named Systurthia via a "freak of Gravity". The inhabitants of this planet become effectively immortal at the age of fifteen, enjoying a playland-like society as a result.
The five children enjoy many adventures on Systurthia, with the oldest brother becoming the King's trusted general. It was followed by a sequel in 1939 titled 'Children Still'.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding with a colour plate inset to the front board. Externally, generally smart with the odd faint stain to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spotting to the first and last few pages, and to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page.
