Immersing himself in the strange rituals of London life, Chiang Yee sets out to learn about Londoners, their habits and their pleasures. This is a rare perspective from an artist and unwitting expat Chiang Yee (1903-1977), who called himself the ‘Silent Traveller.’ Yee was a poet and author who left China to study economics and administration at the London School of Economics, before the war caused him to remain in England.

In the publisher's original cloth decorated with Chinese characters, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Light shelf wear and marginal discolouration to cloth boards. Dust wrapper very smart with the odd closed tear and creasing to extremities. The odd mark to the wrap. Archival tape repair to reverse of wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
