Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

A faithful facsimile of the 1762 eleventh edition of 'The Schoolmasters Assistant', issued by Scott Foresman. This volume contains the first twenty pages of the work, and certain selections from the rest of the text. 

An educational mathematical treatise by Thomas Dilworth, a cleric and author who is best known for his 'A New Guide to the English Tongue'.

Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.

From the library of American-British mathematician David Singmaster, with his stamp to the recto of the front endpaper, and his occasional pencil note to the margins. Singmaster was emeritus professor of mathematics at London South Bank University, and was a puzzle historian, a big fan of mechanical puzzles, and an early adopter and promoter of the Rubik's Cube.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Sunning to the spine and extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Stamp to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
