A very scarce first edition.
Completed in May 1939, the liner was assessed at 35,739 gross register tons, and had an exterior design similar to RMS Queen Elizabeth.
Illustrated with vignette illustrations throughout, and with a large central colour folding plate illustrating the exterior.
Undated; dated 1938 via the National Maritime Museum.
This launch brochure places emphasis on the ten decks of the ship, its dining saloons, its twenty-four public rooms, its propelling machinery, and the electricity that ran throughout the ship.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper wraps. Significant handling marks to wraps. Closed tear to back strip tail, with wraps firmly held. Internally, central two gatherings detached and loosely inserted, otherwise firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
