A wonderful epic poem, concerning references to the Bible and important ancient figures.
Written by the noted Bloomsbury author Vita Sackville-West, well known today for her friendship and relationship with fellow author, Virginia Woolf. Sackville-West provided the inspiration for Woolf's beloved novel 'Orlando'. Sackville-West was also a noted garden designer at her house Sissinghurst, the garden of which is still celebrated today.
Published by the Hogarth Press, the Bloomsbury publishing house founded ran by Leonard and Virginia Woolf. The press was founded in the interwar period, as printing became a hobby for the couple, diverting Virginia when her writing became too stressful. Both Woolfs' taught themselves to use a printing press, publishing 527 titles from the period of 1917 to 1946.

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper, with small chips and closed tears, including a chip to the backstrip. Spine is age-toned. Light handling marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
