From the library of W.A. Foyle of Beeleigh Abbey. William Foyle founded Foyles bookshop in 1903 alongside his brother. He purchased Beeleigh Abbey during the Second World War, an impressive twelfth century monastery in Essex. Beeleigh housed his library, one of the largest private libraries in England.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with paper label to front board. Light handling marks to front board head and tail. Front hinge a touch strained to head and tail, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
