The first editions of 'Mumfie's Uncle Samuel' and 'Mumfie's Magic Box', the latter in particular being a very scarce first edition.
In the publisher's quarter cloth binding, with illustrated boards.
From Katharine Tozer's series of illustrated children's books following the adventures of little Mumfie the elephant and his friend Scarecrow.
Illustrated by the author throughout with full-page and in-text drawings. With eight colour plates to 'Magic Box'.
Condition
In the publisher's quarter cloth binding, with illustrated boards. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities, more so to the baords. Spines are cocked and faded. Handling marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a coloured-in bookplate tipped-in to the front free endpaper of 'Uncle Samuel'. The occasional spot or tide mark Damp to the corner of page 221 of 'Magic Box', causing wear and residue to the the facing full page illustration.
