Includes more than seventy monochrome photographs appearing as vignette illustrations throughout the text to demonstrate a variety of techniques, including for creating shadowless backgrounds, multiplying the lens with prisms, and local reduction.

This is a fascinating guide to some of the most commonly used trick photography methods for achieving "more or less unusual pictures", explained by the photographer Otto R. Croy. It features specific sections on the pinhole camera, on faking moonlight and rainbows, and using reflectors for outdoor photography.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding, with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very excellent with just a touch of bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Wrapper is smart with slight age toning, some light handling marks, and edgewear, including some minor closed tears and chips. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age toned however generally bright and clean barring fractional browning at the fore edge. Marginal marks from a few small tape pieces previously affixed to the recto of the front free endpaper and verso of the rear free endpaper.
