Signed by the author and his wife, with a lengthy inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, dated July 1942.

A fascinating history of cinema, written from the author's experiences of working in the film industry.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, fifteen plates, and in-text illustrations.

Collated, complete.

Four pages of adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the spines. A few minor marks to the cloth, a little heavier to the rear board. Spots to the fore edge. Inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Small tidemark to the rear paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots.
