The first UK edition, published simultaneously with the American first edition. In the publisher's green cloth binding with the original unclipped dust wrapper. The delightful Russian folk tale of King Douda, retold and illustrated by Russian illustrator, Boris Artzybasheff. Bright and colourful illustrations throughout. With a bookplate to one, 'Elizabeth Marshall', to the half title page.

Condition

In the publisher's full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges and a few small marks to the boards. Some light offsetting and staining to the paste-downs and endpapers. The original unclipped dust wrapper is a trifle worn. Shelf wear and chipping to the edges. Marks to the boards. Sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with just the odd handling mark.
