This work is written by British solicitor and anthropologist Robert W. Williamson. Williamson turned to anthropology at the age of 54 and travelled to the Solomon Islands to spend time with amongst the people there. This work was produced following an investigation of posthumous manuscripts arranged by Williamson's executors in 1935. This work looks into the social organization and religion in central Polynesia, documenting the gods and creation stories from different regions.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with minor marks to the boards, fading to the spine and light bumping and discolouration to the extremities. Scattered spotting and very light offsetting to the end papers. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with minor spotting to the front and rear. Spotting to the fore edge.
