These 'Baedeker' handbooks, from the company of German publisher Karl Baedeker, set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists. They contain, among other things, maps and information regarding routes, travel facilities, noteworthy sights, attractions and museums, written by specialists.
This Paris guide offers forty-six routes in and around the city, including routes from London.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities and a couple minor marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a spot affecting the bottom edge of the appendix and supplement leaves. With tide mark to the margin of the first couple pages, including the folding map frontispiece. Dual-spread map to the rear endpapers bound upside-down.
