The gardening part of this volume is by C. H. Middleton, discussing sowing, an A to Z of practical and common sense advice, soil preparation, pests, and more. The cookery part is then written by Ambrose Heath, offering a multitude of hints for making delicious meals. 

Gift inscription to the recto of the front endpaper.

Bookplate of Martin & Pamela Finch to the recto of the front endpaper. The Finch couple founded Matthew Finch Design Consultants Limited, a graphics group which specialised in design for print and publishing. They opened an antiquarian bookshop, Wadard Books, in 2001.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Spots to the fore edge. Bookplate and gift inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. A little light edge wear to the dust wrapper, with one small tape repair to the reverse. Spine is age-toned. Light handling marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with scattered spots to the first and last few pages.
