The first edition of two numbers of the Bookano Stories series of pop-up books, edited by S. Louis Giraud.

Present here are No. 4 from 1937, and No. 11, from 1944.

Each volume is illustrated with full colour endpapers, with a further colour frontispiece and title page, and five impressive full colour double-page pop up plates to each volume, in full working order. Collated, complete.

Consisting of short stories and six brief verses in each volume.

Two charming twentieth century pop-up work.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial paper covered boards. Light shelf wear to back strip tail, with boards exceptionally bright. Front hinge of 11 strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd handling mark. Pop-ups in full working order.
