Complete in two volumes.

A touching biography on William Morris, written by his youngest daughter, May Morris.

William Morris was a notable British textile designer, poet, artist, writer, activist and conservationist. He is widely known for his association with the British Arts and Crafts movement and is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain.

Volume I is illustrated with a frontispiece, and three plates.

Volume II is illustrated with a frontispiece, and one in-text illustration.

Collated, complete. 

May Morris was an artist like her father, known for her embroidery, and for co-founding the Women's Guild of Arts.

Bookplate of J. W. Struthers to the front paste down of Volume II. Struthers was a Scottish surgeon who was awarded the Serbian Order of St Sava due to his role in the First World War. He is known for being an early user of local anaesthetic techniques in general surgery.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light marks to the boards, with a damp stain to the tail of the spines. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Bookplate to the front paste down of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
