What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Limited Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

No. 361 of 750 copies produced.

A commemorative bibliography of the productions of The Nonesuch Press, illustrated with text, title pages, and insets reproduced from the press's first hundred books, printed at the Cambridge University Press.

Compiled by Francis Meynell, one of the founders of the Press, this serves as both a reflective essay and a detailed bibliographical record.

Including an annotated bibliography of the first 100 books produced by the Nonesuch Press, between 1923 and 1934. Each entry includes detailed descriptions of the edition, design, typefaces, illustrations, and print runs, making it an invaluable resource for collectors, bibliographers, and historians of private press movements.

Illustrated with 6 photogravure plates of bindings, 44 tipped-in leaves mounted on dark grey paper - 25 of these are bifolia and many in colour - 52 pages reproducing illustrative text and title pages, and 3 pages of printer's devices.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Fading to back strip, as is common with this work, otherwise externally exceptional. Bookseller's label to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
