Bound in decorative full crushed morocco by J. H. dated 1940.
Published as part of The Aldine Bible series, a collection presenting the New Testament in four volumes. The series was edited by M. R. James, a British author and scholar known for his ghost story collections.
This particular volume is third in the series and contains the Pauline and Pastoral Epistles.
Illustrated with two engravings by Eric Gill, lacking the map endpapers as was bound without.
With the stamp of J. H. 1940 to the rear endpaper.
Condition
Bound in full crushed morocco. Externally, very smart indeed, with light marking to leather and a little darkening to extremities and spine. Small bookseller stamp to rear paste down. Bound without map endpapers. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages.
