First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece, forty plates, and eight maps and plans, five of which are folding. Collated complete. An account of the life of Admiral of the Fleet John Rushworth Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe, a Royal Navy officer who fought in the Anglo-Egyptian War and the Boxer Rebellion. He is best remembered for his controversial handling of the Battle of Jutland in May 1916 during the First World War during which he commanded the Grand Fleet. Written by Admiral Sir Reginald Hugh Spencer Bacon, an officer in the Royal Navy noted for his technical abilities.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
